SUNDAY MORNINGS @ 9 AM
THE KIND OF CHURCH WE WANT TO BE
42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
WHAT WE DO ON SUNDAYS
The preaching of the Word of God is one of the most foundational elements of a church and how the gospel is established and spread.
42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.
The church is the people gathered in praise and worship of our king. As we come together, our lives and our songs lift God high in worship.
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. …
COMMUNION & FELLOWSHIP
In community we grow closer together, encourage and challenge one another to live a life worthy of our Lord, and join in communion as the body of Christ.
46 And day by day, attending the temple together . . . And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
WHAT HAPPENS AT SUNDAY GATHERINGS?
We usually begin with musical worship to get our hearts and minds aligned toward worshiping our God. We tend to have acoustic guitar-led worship, and contemporary songs that give us prayers and truths about God to sing as we begin our church gathering. We DO occasionally sprinkle in a hymn here and there, if that’s your thing.
Most of the time, our co-lead pastors, Brian & Mandy Lucas, trade-off preaching each week. We generally work our way through books of the Bible. The teaching is biblical and relevant to our lives. It is not necessary to have been here the week before to understand this week’s message, but it won’t hurt to go back and watch the last week or two on YouTube or Facebook if you missed one.
Every week, usually toward the end of the service, we take communion together. If you are present with us, the communion elements will either be available on your way in or distributed during the service. Each time we meet, whether in house churches or on Sundays, we take communion together. The bread represents the Body of Christ, and the juice represents the Blood of Christ. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
Prayer is an integral part of our faith. We include prayer throughout the service, during worship, the message, and communion.
FELLOWSHIP (HANGING OUT)
There is coffee and water available in the lobby as you enter/exit. Part of the purpose of these gatherings is to just hang out and get to know other people in the church. Our hope is that deep friendships would form as you share your lives together. Show up a few minutes early, and stick around after service to have a cup and get to know our people.
We believe that the church should include every generation. As such, on Sundays, the whole family is invited to attend the main service together. We have notebooks for elementary-aged kids, and a more advanced notebook for the older kids/youth to help guide them in processing and solidifying the sermon.
While all kids are welcome, we also recognize there is an age (2-5) that may be a little squirmy for an hour-plus of sitting and/or singing. We DO have a kids’ room for that age, and our team will offer digital check-in if you need it. The kids will have a lesson and craft based on the same theme as the passages we are covering in main service, so there is some alignment for the whole family in what we are learning at church each week.
